Going for gold!

Well after a morning of housework there is only one thing to do - go crafting!    Had a pop round some of the blogs and spotted some of the challenges,   I may or may not enter, depends on how brave I feel.

Anyway the theme for this one was Gold,  so I decided to cut a tag.   Then using the leftover bits from the Kanban acetate butteflies I inked in a few,  using the TH distress inks,  then used a mix of frayed burlap and tattered paper to smudge round the edges.  Then it was a case of - what now?   Cup of tea of course,  pause to watch Team GB win a few Gold medals, and even the sun came out to celebrate.

Had a mooch amongst the stash,  should I go for flowers?   Or...  had no idea what the 'or' was going to be!  Lots of mooching,  lots of messing with different ideas.

I had just settled on using some flowers when this little jigsaw wrap popped out of the stash... its timing was perfect!  I used a versamark pad on the two jigsaw sides,  then applied gold embossing powder,  bit of DST round the back,  added some baker twine, a soft yellow.

The tag needed a bit more adding to it, so went with the Dandelion clock set of stamps,  and used the adirondiac inks,  espresso.   It was starting to come together.  I stamed and embossed a piece of card and considered putting that inside the jigsaw wrap,  but didn't like it!     More searching through stamps,  found my favourite sentiment... what the heck.   So used that,  just gently smudged the edges with the tattered paper ink pad,  added a few gold chunky gems,  and found some lovely flutterbies.

So this is it with the two flaps closed, the gold embossing isn't showing up very well.
And here it is with the flaps open to reveal the sentiment, which I've used a lot recently.

Quite pleased with my efforts,   but now think it didn't need the extra stamps, so may have a go at a second tag tomorrow. Also picked up a few techniques on CnC,  which I hope to use tomorrow.

Well was due to attend a workshop on Saturday, but it has been cancelled :(   Rats.   So may have to make do with a trip to the craft shop...

Though Mr Murray may make the Olympic tennis final, in which case I'll want to be at home watching it!

Team GB had a great day at the Olympics, we seem to have waited ages for a medal, now it seems we're winning them left, right and centre... keep them coming!

Thanks for stopping by

Wow, Wow!!! This is gorgeous Cassidy! I love how the little jigsaw opens to reveal the sentiment and I love the composition of the whole thing - think that means I'm in love!! You MUST link it up to Hels blog - just get your toe in the water and you'll never look back and hopefully more people will come and see your lovely work. The only thing I'd say is that you need to lose the word verification as they often won't comment with that. You can set it to just comment moderation so all you lose is the annoying thing below and you still maintain control of the comments that are seen on your blog. . . .
So loving that you're GOING TO ENTER A CHALLENGE AT LAST!!

Hi Cassidy, your tag is terrific - the jigsaw piece is the perfect addition and I do like that sentiment. I'd also like to urge you to lose the word verfication - as a dyslexic I can tell you I might have to have a couple of attempts before it lets me comment, and I have been known to give up altogether.
